(14,858 posts)The only thing they would ever turn on him for is if he stopped attacking Democrats. That's more important to them than anything else.

(12,712 posts)Scapegoating. Deflection. Not taking responsibility, (he said that).
There is a whole system of Right-Wing propaganda and conspiracy theories that support his attacks, so he just feeds the fire and places the blame and those with fealty bow and believe. You know, stoking the flames.
It has to be the democrats because they are the antithesis of this GOP plague and pox upon our land. They represent critical thought, rational approaches and what is beneficial to the common good and welfare as per the Preamble to the Constitution.
Now, you can't get away with sacking everything AND take responsibility for it, too, so you fashion a clay statue and scream things while pointing and saying: "Look! See! They are the dangerous socialist deceivers threatening our country! Over there!"
It is the same when a Fascist country or a dictator captures, imprisons, tortures and executes intellectuals and academics after they get the low-hanging scapegoats, (like immigrants, LGBTQ, etc.) only we are not quite there, yet.

(10,252 posts)us versus them. Me versus my enemies. He imagines himself as a great strong hero with impeccable taste and virtue. We of course, see him as a degenerate buffoon and moron. Let him attack Dems. I don't pay any attention to him, and probably no Dems do either. I can't imagine any Dem politician feeling wounded by a Donny Dimwit attack. It's what he does. Like a skunk sprays as a defense, when frightened.
Trump's days are numbered. You watch.

(1,178 posts)Before it's all said and done, he's going to make it sound like the Democrats who were the ones dragging their feet in fighting the pandemic. That's just how he is....he'll spin his own failures around and pin it on the Democrats.

(8,361 posts)Its exhausting listening to him for years now. How in the hell anyone ever liked his dopey show and willingly watched him on television is incomprehensible to me.

(1,178 posts)What amazes me is the Trumpers can't see that....how they can sit there and believe everything wrong Trump does is "fake news" really astounds me.

(8,361 posts)says otherwise, but his fan base beats anything I have ever seen. Most Democrats rightfully go after one of their own when they are wrong, its healthy!
