Question on college/universities and kids in different countries/time zones?

How are colleges handling young men and women from overseas taking online classes? If I was somebody from Shanghai or Tokyo attennding NYU (for example) and my normal schedule is a noon class, is the kid in Shanghai taking the class at midnight Shanghai time, and a kid from Tokyo is waking up to catch the class live at 1am? or does he or she tune in when they wake up to see a recorded version of the class? Catching it recorded might be tough if they have questions for the professor or TA

A one hour time difference won't be a big deal, but 6-12 hours can make a big difference.

They're generally recorded, and many professors understand the limitations of that medium. WhiskeyGrinder Mar 2020 #1
