It is cold and windy today in upstate NY. It adds to the depression we are feeling. I need to be able to sit out on my porch in the warm sun. Hurry spring!

(32,006 posts)Just seeing the sun shine is a blessing any more .... here in Ohio we don't get sun too often!
As I write this, it's gray and cloudy!

(23,322 posts)It was 8 degrees here on Sunday and the wind blew like a banshee. Yesterday we had sun but it never got above 30 degrees. I so need to see something green and alive.

(3,256 posts)I can take a some snow and cold but spring is just too long in coming. It was not in my retirement plans but about the time I hit the big 70 I decided I'd had enough of snowblowers, shovels and ice. A little winter is ok but living in a place that doesn't warm up until May gets really old. I think when I was working I didn't mind as much because I was busier, but when you retire you have a lot more time on your hands and spend a lot more time in the house being isolated. It was in the mid 70's yesterday and in the 60's today here in El Paso. We had about an inch of snow all winter and the coldest temperature was in the low twenties. We pay for it in the summer months but it's generally bearable with low humidity and a breeze. Also the temperature drops at night by about 25 degrees on the average so even in heat wave it's usually pleasant in the mornings.
