There's no way I can do my taxes myself. I have a small business and it's complicated.
And the IRS is already punishing me for some previous years mistakes. So I HAVE TO get my taxes done right, and on time.
I'm thinking just go ahead and get an extension immediately, what do you think?
I know this may sound trivial, in light of the fact that I have NO FOOD in my house, because the entire grocery store by me was totally sold out of everything last night, but I do not need any IRS bullshit coming on me again, especially with offers swirling around of the government sending out checks to aid people through this, you KNOW they are gonna collect it all back from us at warp speed.

(15,143 posts)Maybe call your CPA and see if you can mail the documents to them and do it via phone or skype. I would avoid any exposure if you can help it.

(15,143 posts)When I had a small business a few years ago, I had to file by March 15th.

(11,990 posts)IIRC, small businesses that are corporations have to file by March 15, but those that are LLCs use the April 15 date.

(26,289 posts)I've heard a rumor that they might extend the deadline to file, but I just want to get this done so I can mark it off of my list of 'must do' out and about activities.

(25,183 posts)perhaps it would be essential, but frankly, all of the tax software I've seen out there can handle most small business situations. And I used to be a tax accountant back in the 1980's, was even an Enrolled Agent.
About all that H&R Block, etc. is good for is getting those refund loans that have exorbitant interest rates built in. And these days, there's not a lot of places to spend it. Most everybody would be better off with Turbo Tax, which is what I used after I stopped doing taxes in 1991.
