I think the WH Doctor really dislikes Trump. Properly hates him.

Did you hear Trump at his press conference saying that even though he has been in direct contact with several people who are now in isolation because of contact with a Covid-19 infected righty at CPAC, his doctor has told him that he did not need to get tested for the virus because he felt fantastic (obviously the incubation period is yet again something the wanker does not understand)? Now, call me cynical but an old bloke with morbid obesity, which has no doubt lea to several underlying health conditions, is exactly the type of person that this virus wants to send off planet. And since the President has had up and close with the virus, surely the right response from the doctor would be testing, and putting a plan together for if/when the old toad gets the virus that could literally kill him?

So either Trump is lying about the medical advice, which is possible, as he continues to yugely underplay the significance of the impact to the US as the virus spreads. OR - and this is also very possible- the doctor in the WH finds him as odious as the rest of do...

Oh, Covid!! Pppsssttt, Over Here...

I doubt he would submit to a test, which is also likely to be uncomfortable. I heard that the swabbing goes pretty far up and back.

As much as I hate Trump, I don't think he needs to be tested yet (at least not until we have enough tests out there). Right now, only people with direct contact with a person that is tested positive or is showing symptoms should be testing right now. Trump only has direct contact with people are not tested positive or are in isolation awaiting result. So it is right that he doesn't need a test yet. We don't want everyone to rush and get tested right now when we don't have enough tests. Chances are, the people that are in isolation are not infected.

Of course, for a president, we might be more careful and do a test anyways. But he is definitely trying to downplay any fear/concerns.

Who has been in direct contact, and then in secondary contact. As it takes off that will probably change of course as resources will be spread to thin, but right now if I was a known secondary contact I would be expecting a knock at the door...

I'm sure his doctor told him he needs to be tested, but he's a malignant narcissist who knows better than anyone, and he's refusing to take his doctor's advice. No doubt he believes he's immune to the virus, and that his "superiority" prevents him from being a carrier. It wouldn't surprise me if there's also a lot of the same mentality that keeps people from getting a suspicious lump or mole, because they're too afraid of what they might find out. it's in the same vein of th warped thinking he has regarding the "numbers" of those people on that cruise ship. If they don't come ashore, they don't exist--at least not as far as it concerns him. It's so fucked up.

with people who are positive. Until and unless one of the people Trump was with is designated as positive, he might have had no contact with anyone who could spread the virus. Now -- we don't know if all of those people have gotten tested.
