I wish you could all watch Gov Inslee right now.

He’s giving a master class in handling the impact of the virus on businesses and workers. Unemployment benefits for those unable to work, assistance in stopping late fees and penalties for late payments due to not being able to earn, stats on epidemic predictions in various scenarios, how to curb activities and cancellation of events and address economic impacts...I wish to God he was president right now.

Edited to include link to video.

Inslee should be named Cabinet Secretary for the EPA. His cred would help restore the agency and then some. Bring back the scientific brain drain that occurred in 2016. Jay is EXACTLY the person who could do that and more.

Oh and by the way, to all of you non-Washingtonians -- WE voter by mail up here. You should get your states to follow suit. This standing for hours in all kinds of weather to vote is ridiculous. You deserve better than a system designed in 1776.

We have Bill Lee as governor in TN. Dumb as a box of rocks, controlled by the lobbyists and guided by the right-wing tea party.
He is so stupid that it's hard to understand how someone can be that stupid and still be walking upright.

That’s what a real leader does.

Instead we’re stuck with this moron who lies about everything, goes golfing, has no economic plan to deal with the fallout, and tweets all morning in front of the TV about ratings. It’s beyond disgusting, it’s dangerous.

Inslee might make a great running mate???? Not sure the geography would work, but I wouldn’t care if my red-ass state and region wasn’t represented on the ticket.

I’m grateful that someone has some common sense.

I met Bashear in 2017 at a Democratic fundraiser (when I went up for the Eclipse) and was very impressed. Bonus: he is young enough to run in 2028 (I am pretty sure I am old enough to be his mother)

He learned from the best: his dad Steve who made KY the Poster State for the ACA.

I am so proud to have him as governor

Washington state has developed a sane response, despite a LOT of unnecessary drama, despite the very real danger

My youngest daughter who also lives in Seattle had to go to the ED yesterday for respiratory symptoms she’s had for over a month. She’s been on antibiotics, cough syrup, test and fluids—the whole thing you know? She’s had a slow recovery and was scared. Her drs office took a long time to call her back, so she went to urgent care. Urgent care wouldn’t see her because “It sounds like the Corona virus” (As a side note, no it fucking didn’t)

So she goes to UWMC, and they have a great triage for Corona right there. Calmed her down, (apparently the nurse cussed out the people tossing out the corona word at urgent care under his breath)

They ended up testing her anyway, because her symptoms were “borderline” but gave her the appropriate tests, lab work, flu swabs, chest X-ray.

She’s recovering from a pretty severe bout of bronchitis. She can rest peacefully knowing she does NOT have the corona virus, has NOT spread it to anyone.

UWMC and hospitals and clinics around the state are working with Inslee to develop a response and containment and they are doing a great job

My son has a chronic condition they can be real dicks about in the ER but once he’s admitted they’re golden. And Mr Bear has gotten nothing but the best for long term heart stuff.

Glad your daughter got the appropriate treatment and it’s good to know they’re on it!

My son-in-law works in a large care center in Tacoma where they have a whole vent-trach wing. This has been a very stressful time for him, but my daughter was so relieved when Gov. Inslee said that employees in the health care industry would get L&I if they had to be quarantined. She was not sure how they could survive financially if her husband would be off work for weeks. My daughter has damaged lungs from nearly dying several years ago, so just the fact that he could possibly be exposed on a daily basis really worries her and us, too. My youngest son works for the Seattle Fire Department, so it was interesting to hear their policy from him on how to handle possible corona virus cases.

Got to meet him at a reception in Portland. What a disappointment that he never caught fire.

He’s on top of this crisis, superbly. The state even bought a hotel to have a safe place to sequester infected people. Very creative solution!

He was masterful and credible and a total professional. You want the job done properly and well? Hire the professionals.
