"Only a crisis (like COVID-19), actual or perceived, produces real change" -- Milton Friedman

Quote continues:

"When that crisis occurs, the actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around. That, I believe, is our basic function: to develop alternatives to existing policies, to keep them alive and available until the politically impossible becomes the politically inevitable."

TrumpCo is not delaying/hampering coronavirus testing and treatment out of incompetence. This health crisis represents enormous profit potential to them.

It also represents opportunity to alter/change legislation, tax codes, entitlement programs, etc.

They're looking for the best way to exploit the crisis. The worse it gets, the easier it will be to promote their pro-corporate policies.

IMHO.

ON EDIT: yes, I altered the quote.

Milton Friedman died thirteen years ago. It is not likely that he has any opinion regarding the coronavirus.

limiting how much money peasants could make on their labor, keeping them in poverty. Then the Peasant’s Revolt in 1381 occurred and killed many noblemen. So Republicans, look out! (Not actually advocating for the death of Republicans).
