Those were years filled with terror for the gay community. Almost doesnt seem fair that they are included in this one as well.

(51,632 posts)1. In 1986 the Pride Parade went past my apt door
and a group of religious nuts with placards marched up and down the sidewalk the whole time. Their signs said that gay people deserved to die from AIDS and that it was God's will. My neighbor threw an egg at them and they called the cops on him. I have never seen them at a parade since that one time, thank Dog.

But gay people tend to be more intelligent and compassionate, so they would be pitching in to help, I believe. Well with maybe an eye roll now and then.
