(28,349 posts)I'm listening to the first video from 1968 and the police violence during the Democratic Convention. It's nice to go back and watch these old broadcasts. A lot happened that hot summer.
I was in high school back then, I remember some of this, but at the time I was far more concerned with the Detroit Tigers' pennant race, then their World Series win over St Louis. This race and win helped a bit to pull Detroit back together after the summer riots.
Sock it to 'em, Tigers!

(32,475 posts)the 1968 episodes take me back to when everyone sat down to watch the evening news. There was no VCR or opportunity to watch later. My parents were very much into Cronkite

(111 posts)They've recorded the evening news since 1968. Obviously an awesome thing they've done.

(28,349 posts)Truly awesome! What a golden nugget they've provided us. I haven't reviewed their website yet, but am hoping to find the history behind this endeavor. The why and how, etc.
I think I'll be spending quite a bit of time casting these videos onto my TV to watch. Isn't technology great?
Thank you, again!
