Message management in the democratic party is piss-poor...
Whoever is in charge of messaging for Democratic spokespeople needs to be fired if they even have one...

While we as Democrats tend to be open to a free discussion where both sides are given even merit-This is not the time for that.
The general public is tired & angry or angry & tired-Period. They don't have time to condense the actual vote records & counter the constant barrage of conservative messaging. We need short concise talking points that get through to the working American.

The Republicans need to be held accountable for the vote record of the last 2 years...
Message it this way-
Republicans have blocked every job bill brought before them-including ones previously sponsored by the Republicans..
Thats a mouthfull..
Here's the short version-Blocking jobs for American workers is Un-Patriotic!!!
That allows youm to point out the voting record for what it is-Because the short version will get them angry enough to possibly listen to a rationa explanation- or at least realize the record wich is easily proven.By sticking with issues that have vote records you avoid opinion BS-these are facts.
Point out when they holler this little gem...
Republicans blocked the removal of tax breaks for companies that offshore jobs-Do you believe YOUR tax dollars should be used as an incentive for outsourcing??.
They can not win these arguments-There are voting record's and you can even ask them to watch the votes on C-span & watch their lips move.

This is the most common tactic on the Republican side is fabricated cause/effect for whatever they are yelling about. Count on it...
Turn this tactic around-Its fair IMHO.Immediatelly call it what you already know it is-a lie!...Again use the stopping effect of such a statement to point out the long story if you can-but its not necessary.
As I can count on whatever they heard on Faux,Rush etc... to be fabricated call them on it even if you don't know exactly how to prove they are lying. Ask them to provide any voting record or actual statements to back the claims. remind them that opinion pages from biased sources does not count.

..Its stupid simple yet I have never had a honest answer from a Republican on a message board or real life...
Name ONE piece of Republican legislation passed into law that has helped the AVERAGE American worker...
Tax cuts that add to the deficit do not count...
They can't answer because there has never been one.

Finally point out that we need to even the job disparity caused by so-called free trade agreements. This is not official platform talk but it should be. Point out the need for balance through tariffs and economic incentives to return manufacturing jobs home where they are needed...
These are all points that are proven winners in public opinion & yet we never see them used properly...
Until we point out how Un-American it is to deliberately vote against America-well we might as well just "hope" they don't rig the election or block Democratic voter turnout-but you know they will
So PLEASE get the message right-if you know someone who actually does campaign message work send them this post. Because I'm soooo tired of the results.
People are angry & tired like I said earlier-They might as well be angry at the people who caused the problem-its very useful when channeled properly. Dangerous when not and thats where we are now...
So get the message out there and show the Republican voting record for what it is-
UN-American!!
