Maybe as high as 25 to 30..times today's dollar. This was not the small amount that we think it is today.

Here is another example. In the movie, "It's a Wonderful Life" there is a moment where the hero needs $8,000 which was stole by the villain. .......What was $8,000 worth in 1945?..When I first thought about this 40 years ago, it was a whole lot. (1979)...Guess what ? 1945 dollars are worth a whole lot more now than in 1979. Think about this..What would a good car cost in 1979? Compared to now?
