a clusterfuck, so it's difficult to separate out the effect of that flu from the collapsing economy brought on by the mortgage bust.

One thing we have for sure this time around, so very much of US consumption is of items made in China. Even so-called "Made in the USA" products have heavy amounts of Chinese components.

I do electronics for fun and dealing with semiconductors or other components has always been easy and cheep. I've stockpiled a lot of stuff just because I could. I have a feeling that if I needed just that certain IGBT it wouldn't be that easy to get. Don't know if it will ever be that easy again. Market changes like this often have longer lasting ramifications.
