Being poor or even paycheck to paycheck is a problem in so many ways.

I'm not poor, never have been. But I frequently wonder what I would do if one of a myriad of things happened to me if I lived paycheck to paycheck.

We'd begun to run out of hand sanitizer and I went to Amazon. The whole first row of offerings were "out of stock." So I ordered an offering of 8 eight oz bottles. Enough to last me and hubby till we die with leftovers for each of our kids' families.

If the government wants us to keep our hands clean, hand sanitizer should be free. (I know, washing is better, but it's not always an option).

1. Make your own with 1/3 aloe gel and 2/3 of at least 70% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.

The problem is what people who can't afford it (and don't know about the tip) have to do. I did look up isopropyl alcohol. There was one 16 oz bottle for 8 something, and when I clicked on "2 other offers" or words to that effect, there was one for $14 and another for $18. Amazon's gallon was out of stock. There was an offer for 12 bottles in a package. Mostly just wipes, eye glass cleaner, etc.

and if your hands aren't clean, keep them away from your face (which is easier said than done). You won't get sick from dirty hands unless you transfer the virus from your hands to your eyes, nose or mouth. For those who can't afford or obtain hand sanitizer, that's the best advice. If you can't get a face mask to keep you from touching your face (even though it won't keep the viruses away), a bandanna or a scarf will do.

8. Like I said, if you can't wash or sanitize your hands, keep them away from your face.

Dirty hands by themselves won't make you sick because the virus can't get through your skin. Transferring the virus from your hands to your eyes, nose, mouth or other opening is what makes you sick.
