Enough Division.

This country needs unity.

It is unfortunate that every word and every action by Donald Trump is meant to divide the country.

Of course, it is meant to divide his side from the "other" side. For his side, they are usually OK with that. It's a natural reaction, I suppose?

But, it is terrible for our nation. It cannot end well. It is a path to violence and destruction. Most Americans understand that.

United we stand, divided we fall, has never been more true.

side wins time and time again. The "why can;t we all get along" route never works. Just saying from 67 years of living

Maybe this message is the weapon we need?

The Party that has its finger on the pulse of the nation will win the next election.

Alone, we are like individual fingers our enemy can easily break. United, we form a powerful fist, capable of protecting all of our rights.

...for the American people.

In my opinion, Democrats should use it to their advantage. It's an issue most easy to draw a contrast with Donald Trump. If nothing else he is a divider. It would be a mistake to attempt to beat him at his own game.

I went on facebook yesterday. There had been some bitter arguments on a political forum for Democrats that I participate on from time to time. I had invested about 48 hours in the last week, focusing on a message of unity (including the finger/fist). Things have smoothed over there.

Then I read a bit that a woman I went to high school with had posted, followed by a handful of posts from other women from our class. There were arguments about who was better: Biden or Sanders? I said that we do not have the luxury of such arguments now. Our Constitution is at stake. And Biden could not win without Sanders's supporters, and Bernie could not win without Joe's supporters. We need to keep our eyes on the prize.

...that their side can't win without the support of the other. Biden needs Bernie supporters and Bernie needs Biden supporters, in order to win.

The good news, in my opinion, is that in smaller groups where everyone knows each other, it is possible to get that message of unity to take root. It is much harder on a large forum where people's identities are not known by everyone else. Yet it is essential that people keep putting that essential message out, as you have done with this OP/thread. It is much appreciated.

So nope, it's not time. We were just as divided prior to Trump. It's a standard GOP tool to GOTV.

I cannot think of a single issue I've ever agreed with a conservative on. Certainly not "America is Great".
