‘He will lose the election’: Trump won't win 2020 because of coronavirus, ‘Dr Doom’ economist predicts

Economist Nouriel Roubini, who's nicknamed "Dr Doom" for his pessimistic predictions, has said the coronavirus will stop President Donald Trump from getting re-elected.

The academic is known for correctly predicting the 2008 housing crisis and recession, and he now says the coronavirus could have a bigger impact on the global economy and Mr Trump's presidency than people predict.

"I expect global equities to tank by 30 per cent to 40 per cent this year," Mr Roubini, who works as a professor at New York University's Stern School of Business, told German magazine Der Spiegel last week.

Wall Street saw the worst week since the 2008 recession hit with markets like the DOW, a stock market index that measures the stock performance of 30 US companies, falling 12.4 per cent.

The fall in stocks was due to growing concerns by investors about how the coronavirus would impact the global economy.

Glad I moved everything in my 401k into bonds right before the stock market had that 1,000-point drop last week.

Is hair raising stuff, and Dr Doom has my attention again. I was following him and reading the Economist, etc. regularly, when I was able to buy stocks at the right time in 2008 (I didn’t have a lot of money, lol, but the stocks I could afford did well the years since.) Had to disclaim this, as I’m rather partial to his views.

I haven’t been tracking Roubini closely during the tRump years, as he’s been posting analysis behind a pricey paywall. I need to poke around, and see what else he’s been saying leading up to the Coronavirus market downturn.

The Orange Anus just announced he will CUT Social Security and Medicare. KA-BOOM,bye bye you friggin Idoit.

Never thought he was going to run for reelection when he changed his Domicile from New York to Florida. He can Bankrupt his whole operation and still save his Home and a percentage of his personal property.

Nothing good ever comes from pretending to know the future

And frankly, the possibly-looming public health emergency should (for now, at least) be treated as a non-partisan issue

I know Trump is a loud and ignorant narcissist and that the GOP won't stand up to him -- but I really don't want to see lots of dead people, if we can prevent it
