Jack Welch had died.

Sympathy to those who loved him. But he was a bad man who did evil things to working people.
The New York Times (@nytimes) Tweeted:
Breaking News: Jack Welch, who led G.E. through decades of prosperity, is dead at 84. He was the most influential business manager of his generation. https://t.co/nNGEdt18vW

A symbol of greed and of the turn a profit now at any long term cost school of business. GE under him used people up like they were office supplies.

That nonsense also caught on a bit at 1 & 2 billion dollar firms who didn’t have the bench depth.
Really stupid

Jack Welch's death is unfortunate. Will obits be rounded or perpetuate myth-making?

Welch cut R&D, manipulated SEC & tax reports, left a mess from which GE & shareholders have never recovered. He gave up ~$70m retirement perks only after I exposed their economics in 2012.

Also, he was a supporter of apricothellbeast, who has tweeted about Welch

because his grandson was diagnosed. Research is a good thing, but this one thing he did doesn't make up for all of the bad.

the Government could properly fund these programs, rather than depending on the largess of the rich.

He’d retired after 30 some odd years there and felt loyalty to where he didn’t diversify

In Dec 2015, I encouraged my stepmother to liquidate the stocks when it was about $31/share. She was able to pay cash for a nice home in FL and put the money from the sale of their home up north into an MMA.

Sold pretty much at a decade-high peak. Hadn’t been above $30 since the Great Recession

Where it’s at now would have been a 2/3 loss

G.E. Russert, he of pinning a Shrub W. campaign button inside his lapel while yukking it up with WELCH. And plagiarist BARNICLE got a career resusitated somehow during WELCH's reign. I remember the beginnings of the Morning Scabs show when BARNICLE showed some shame getting e-mails with the word "plagiarist" in them (speaking for a friend). But now he is totally rehabilitated and treated (by Scabs & Mika Mouse) as a venerable and real journalist.
