Takes a little while to get the equipment (the thing that hooks with your phone). It gets linked with your bank account. Ask about the fees though, so you understand them.

it is related to this - https://www.democraticunderground.com/100212928233

I ended up doing something really stupid, putting that money on my credit cards thinking when I paid the bill I would get the points...well of COURSE the person doesn't take credit card payments. we went around in circles for a couple of days (I can get some it in a cash advance but would have to make payments for part of the balance) and now she says she is working to get a machine and be able to take credit card payments. I was wondering how long that was going to take.

But you need a federal tax id number, a transaction tax permit from the state and maybe a trade name cert, or at least an llc, c or s corp.

You also have to sign a contract for a minimum period, usually 2 years.

The cost of the equipment is paid up front, seperate from the merchant service agreement.

Eta if your asking if someone can run a charge for you thats extremely risky because without the customer present a chargeback becomes a lot more likely.

2 eta Ok, I think I get what your dealing with. Buy visa gift cards. You can use a cc for that. Keep the reciepts and maybe write up an invoice and have the other person sign.

so I am presuming it will be done through the billing company. at one point she was wanting me to pay her through her friend's company...I was not really wanting to do that. this is a surgeon's assistant. who in the medical field doesn't take credit card payments in this day and age???!!!
