You have GOT to see this. Betsy DeVos claims that the 40% failure rate of charter schools is only propaganda and false-when she is asked what the actual failure rate supposedly is then for charter schools she has no idea.
(God, I'm so embarrassed she's from Michigan)

(34,458 posts)She is a perfect storm of vileness. Erik Prince's sister & Dick DeVos's wife. Although I still have a bumper sticker from her hubby's failed gubernatorial bid against Jennifer Granholm in 2006: "Don't DICK with Michigan"

(43,545 posts)I could never be a congresswoman, as I would snap and go off the charts aggro on that piece of dogshit.
My already miniscule level of desire to come back and live in the US withers more each day, with each observation of this evil, wicked trash who are in charge atm of the federal government and a good chunk of the states.

(12,712 posts)But, you know, it is really hard to find some one that could mess up our education system better.
They need a worse choice in order to do that, so she gets to stay.
DOH! DOH! DOH! Oh, who needs education anyway?

(21,211 posts)I have seen and expected many meltdowns from children with special needs (my son included) and in public schools we would never call the police to handle the situation.

(16,940 posts)did for the SOTU - a kid was "awarded" a scholarship to "be free" and attend a school of her choice - while she was already attending "the school of her choice" - a charter school that had a 65 -1 application/admission ratio - yeah, she was one of the students "attending the school of her choice!"
She had attended a parochial school for the first 3 years of her schooling but the tuition became too much for the mother to handle. Because of that her mother enrolled her into the lottery for admission at the local charter school, which, by the way, is funded by the Philadelphia Public School System. She was admitted to that school and, as her mother said after the "award" from IQ45, "I don't view MaST as a school you want to get out of at all. I view it as a great opportunity."
Yeah - great TV - and more scam - just what we've come to expect from this mis-administration.

And her creepy brother, Eric Prince, wouldn't hesitate to have promoted a back channel to Russia since he tried to arrange that in the Seychelles.

(34,458 posts)I lived in Grand Rapids for years and I'm so glad I got the hell out. Every other building is named DeVos this or VanAndel that. They bought the entire city and the university I worked at for years. It was disgusting to walk into my office building every damned day to see Richard DeVos's & Jay VanAndel's ugly mugs, not to mention their nauseating families. I'm so happy not to see any traces in the city I live in now.
