Trump seems to follow Stalin getting his own Lysenkos in charge.
Trofim Lysenko was a Soviet biologist who refused to accept genetics (natural selection) in favor of his own unproven theories. Stalin put him in charge of Soviet agriculture, while purging all scientist who disagreed. Setting them back decades and causing quantifiable suffering.
