And India has been desperate for years to get us to switch from our traditional ally of Pakistan to favor India. Which funny enough Obama was laying the seed to do by repairing our Iranian relationships, which would have allowed Afghanistan economy to flow through Iran, which would have lower the reliance on Afghanistan to use Pakistan to move goods, which would have broken the strangle hold the Pakistan back Taliban has on rural Afghanistan, which would have made Pakistan less important to Americas regional interests, which might have lead to our insane policy of backing Pakistan over India... but we're pretty much back to 1980 in all this thanks to Trump. But hey, you can't blame the Indian officials for playing Trump. He's too stupid to understand Pakistan is actually our regional ally.
