This is a country where most houses don't even have air conditioning. Mine sure doesn't. Until five years ago or so, we hardly needed it. The farmers here are having to cope with dry spells and heat like they haven't had in living memory.

Air conditioning a house or an apartment after it has been built is an expense most Germans are not happy to have foisted upon them, but having to cope with inside temperatures over 90°F isn't something they're used to here, either. Telling someone that the oppressive heat in his house isn't happening because Donald Trump says so has never been known to lower temperatures significantly.
