Trump's NSC is ignoring intelligence reports and basing policy on handouts of Trump's tweets: report

Published 1 min ago on February 22, 2020
By Tom Boggioni

According to a report from the New York Times, members of the National Security Council under Donald Trump no longer uses their extensive knowledge of international relations, politics, and history to formulate foreign policy security proposals for the president’s review — and are instead using the president’s tweets to make policy based upon his desires and social media proclamations.

The report begins with noting that council members are often handed printouts of the president’s tweets when they convene and are expected to use his words as their guide to formulate proposals that will likely find favor with the president.

“When President Trump’s national security adviser, Robert C. O’Brien, convenes meetings with top National Security Council officials at the White House, he sometimes opens by distributing printouts of Mr. Trump’s latest tweets on the subject at hand,” the report begins. “The gesture amounts to an implicit challenge for those present. Their job is to find ways of justifying, enacting or explaining Mr. Trump’s policy, not to advise the president on what it should be.”

As the report points out, this is a reversal of how the national security apparatus is supposed to work where members of the council previously gave advice to the president on national security decisions based upon department analysis.

to hit the streets AND start strategic actions to exercise the power of our mass. We're the ones who make the wheels go 'round, perhaps putting on the brakes is necessary.

taking to the streets can't hurt but not sure right now it will help... but I don't think we should or can wait until January 20 (even if we vote and win in November, trump can still do much destruction and most likely will)

I have to believe there is someone/some organization that is actively working on this... but it sure doesn't feel like it

Think of how bush stuck his head in the sand when he got the bin laden memo. he didn't care. he was on vacation.

now that drumpf has gutted our intelligence services of patriots and replaced them with loyalists, and reading the OP....... i wonder what is to stop a country like Russia from striking? Imagine the absolute chaos they could sew by carrying out some sort of terrorist event on our soil on or just before election day? And with drumpf actively firing anyone that speaks truth about Russia's activities, we have no means of combating such plans. drumpf would seize on the chaos to hold onto power, demand the election be postponed for "security", etc........

The USA is stumbling through the world right now being lead by bumbling sycophantic idiots who are willingly and purposefully blinding themselves to the world around them..................... this is terrifying...........

Some of them are too literate for him, and obviously written by other people, eg the odious racist Miller. Or maybe a flunky or two who also have access to his account, and feel like directing the security policy of the world's most powerful nation that day.

After Chairman Dorko passes, bound copies of his collected tweets and wisdom will be more popular than the bible, I bet.
