https://www.rawstory.com/2020/02/donald-trump-jr-one-of-only-3-people-who-wants-to-legally-kill-an-alaskan-grizzly-bear-this-year/The report states the son of President Donald Trump has been granted the right to hunt a grizzly bear in northwestern Alaska near the Bering Sea town of Nome, a state official said on Friday.
The son of U.S. President Donald Trump was one of three people who applied for 27 spots for non-resident hunters targeting grizzlies in a designated region of northwestern Alaskas Seward Peninsula, said Eddie Grasser, the wildlife conservation director for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the report continues with Grasser adding, We get thousands of applications and that it comes down to pure chance, luck of the draw.
Most of those applications are for hunting caribou, moose and other animals throughout the state.
The report goes on to note that few are actually interested in killing a grizzly bear, stating, there was little competition. Twenty-four tags for hunting bears in that region went unclaimed, Grasser said.

Note: Jason Hairston, founder of KUIU, took his own life a week after the hunting trip with Junior, and this was just after Junior landed him a position with the federal government at the Department of the Interior, where he served as a liaison between the agencys former head Ryan Zinke and sportsmens groups on issues such as conservation and public lands.

(6,040 posts)Unless he is a really good shot, shooting a grizzly only get them mad. Seeing an injured but pissed off bear gaining on a scared shitless Jr in a chase would be a Darwinian moment I couldn't wait to see.

(374 posts)I'm sure he'll have guides with him to anchor it if it decides to charge him before it bleeds out. More likely it'll try to run away or claw at the wound trying to understand it.

(54,409 posts)Actually, to make it a fair fight, I'd like to see a one-one match, gladiator style, in an arena with Junior Trump and a grizzly bear. I wouldn't even leave Trump with no implements at all. I'd allow him a comb and some hair gel.
