Trump's insanity regarding Russia

Insane: uable to think in a clear or sensible way
Trump’s attitude towards Russian interference in our elections is pure insanity.

Ever since Comey informed him that Russia interfered he has denied it, overreacted and acts like it's all a deep state conspiracy.

Trump still reacts by firing people, obstructing investigations and trying to prove it was Ukraine and not Russia. His actions lead to the Mueller investigation and even got him impeached. And yet he's still doing everything he can to make sure Russia can continue to interfere in our elections.

Either he's a total moron or a Russian asset. Either way he's got no one to blame but himself for the endless investigations and suspicions regarding his relationship with Putin. The guy is obsessed with proving Russia didn't help him win in 2016 and blows a gasket anytime the intelligent community mentions the interference is ongoing. It's total insanity and he's never going to try to stop them.

Back in my day, there was a distinction, but I'll be damned if I can sort it out today.

In that case I am wrong.

The distinction between agents and operatives. Intelligence agency employees who work in the field do not call themselves agents; an agent is someone hired or recruited by an intelligence agency to do its bidding. The person to whom the agent reports—the actual agency employee—is known as an operative.

I want to think an asset is a person who knowingly, or unknowingly provides intelligence information, and the orange anus, the useful idiot he is, may not even know he's being played.

I don't know, it's just a working theory I've been toying with.

Your link, upthread, dropped the intelligence and went straight to financial assets, and assumed I was an idiot. But if you drop the parentheses it goes to the proper page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asset_intelligence

In intelligence, assets are persons within organizations or countries being spied upon who provide information for an outside spy. They are sometimes referred to as agents, and in law enforcement parlance, as confidential informants, or "CIs" for short.

There are different categories of assets, including people who:

Willingly work for a foreign government for ideological reasons such as being against their own government, but live in a country that doesn't allow political opposition. They may elect to work with a foreign power to change their own country because there are few other ways available.

Work for monetary gain. Intelligence services often pay good wages to people in important positions that are willing to betray secrets.

Have been blackmailed and are forced into their role.

Do not even know they are being used (so called "useful idiots"). Assets can be loyal to their country, but may still provide a foreign agent with information through failures in information safety, such as using insecure computers or not following proper OPSEC procedures during day-to-day chatting.

The short answer is I wouldn't know what Ctrl +V is if it bit me in the ass.

if it's pasted directly into the address bar, but trying to get that Ctrl +V thingy to work starts deleting everything I've been typing.

why the GOP is aiding and abetting this Russian attack on our country.

Geez, whatever happened to patriotism? How quickly they squandered that.

Every single fucking one of them? Except Romney?
