My coworker has a dry cough

He's been feeling bad for about a week and is no better, maybe a little worse. He has been to the doctor but they just gave him the general advice for cold/flu.. He doesn't have any connection to Asia so it's most likely not coronavirus, but if it is, I'm already exposed. A lot of us will be dealing with this kind of thing in the coming weeks and months

has a side effect of a dry cough, but only for males over sixty. Does your co-worker fit that profile?

It may be a side effect of some other medication. It's a little too soon to panic.

told you about the doctor visit shows openness about the condition. It's probably a fairly ordinary infection. But your point about people worrying about the coronavirus is well taken.

Luckily it doesn't happen often, but it sucks to have at times like this! Especially when flying!

(Phila. suburbs) that's lasting forever. If this person has been to the doctor, it's likely he just has a cold, maybe the regular flu. Corona virus is a mandatory reportable disease to the health department of all states, along with quarantine, so I would bet the farm you're in no danger from that one, unless his doctor is Doctor Demento.

I've read that the corona virus flu is pretty much like regular flu but easier to spread because we don't yet understand all its mechanisms. The regular old flu has already killed 14,000 people this year according to the CDC, so as of now, it's a lot more dangerous than corona virus.

I think you're over-reacting.

I got a mild case of the flu (despite getting a flu shot in England-- different strain I imagine). The cough lasted FOREVER. Such a nightmare. It finally went away after about 3 weeks or so.

A dry cough seems to accompany that sometimes.

And I’m not sick at all. No infection, no virus, just crappy seasonal allergies.

It’s extremely unlikely to be the corona virus and if it is its most dangerous for the elderly and infirm. Don’t let the media stir you into a panic and distract from what we should be stressing about - the dismantling of the rule of law and slide into tyranny.

This Christmas I caught one and though there was never any fever or aches there was some excessive reactions to it, including coughing. In the end, it turned into a dry cough. A month and a half later and I sometimes get mini coughing fits.

There are pills you can take that can stop coughing fantastically fast, but a doctor will not prescribe them to you UNLESS the cough is truly a dry cough due to bronchial irritation. They're called pearls. I'll look it up if you're interested.

A lot of people go to work ill usually due to no sick leave benefit. They can't afford the time off.

That in turn can make other people ill as well.

It's really a wonder that there aren't more sick as it is.

.

Take 30 drops 3x a day, or get Lung Tonic liquid gels, if you don't want to taste it.

Also, take DM Max every four hours, along with extra guaifenesin. NEVER miss a dose, even if that means setting alarm for 2AM. You don't want to give a chest infection any chance to re-root itself. Also a Vicks menthol steam inhaler to loosen mucus in the lower part of the lungs. Take slow breaths in and slightly more forceful breaths out to keep the direction of mucus to favor leaving the lungs.

At most, my four kids would lose no more than two days of school, most often just one day.

Never go into the hospital without elecampane... never. It's at all good health food stores, Sprouts, etc.
