Clinton was impeached and he pardoned or granted clemency to over 280 individuals in the two years after his impeachment trial ended.

From a practical standpoint, a pardon is a pardon.

The difference, I think, was that Clinton accepted responsibility for his actions and was sincerely regretful for what he had done, and apologized to the American people. Trump refuses to accept that anything wrong happened. The call was "perfect." What the f*ck does that even mean?

It wasn't a "real" impeachment in his mind because the dishonest Democrats in the House did it -- it was therefore a hoax. Besides, he was completely exonerated, wasn't he? No harm, no foul.

So far, Trump's statement that he has the "absolute right" to pardon himself hasn't been tested in court. Nor has his repeated (and thus far unchallenged) statement that "Article II lets me do whatever I want -- but I haven't talked about that."

Yes, he has talked about it -- repeatedly:

I guess my hatred of Trump -- as a man more than as a politician -- overcame my logic. Sorry.
