A black student at Eastern Illinois University returning from an out-of-state tournament with his teammates and coaches said several police officers handcuffed him, pointed a gun at his head and threatened to blow his head off in what turned out to be their search for a wanted suspect.

According to the lawsuit, the officers shouted at Butler to put his hands up and get down. He complied and did not resist, the suit states.
Several officers forced Butler to the snowy ground as he was handcuffed, with one putting his knee on the student's back and another pressing on his neck. One of the officers squatted down in front of him, put a gun to his forehead and said, "If you keep moving, I'm going to blow your f------ head off," the suit says.

Editorial: Investigate East Moline incident
There are so many troubling aspects to this, not least the alleged threats. In addition, though, the lawsuit says the officers involved did not document the stop, and Butler says he was ignored at the scene when he said he wanted to file a complaint.
Our efforts to get more information also have been stonewalled.
With the county now the target of a lawsuit, it's clear that if the public is going to get answers outside a courtroom, it will require a thorough and independent investigation.
We believe our elected leaders, at all levels, ought to demand it.

(Including security guards and border patrol), so that people like these racist assholes can never work in law-enforcement again, preferably taking their right to carry with it.
