Now when Barr testifies to congress on March 30, he can say, "See? We are fair and honest."

Foe decades Republican strategy has been basically attack dogs. They have lots of practice. It's very enjoyable to see it turned on deserving Republicans.

WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr has assigned an outside prosecutor to scrutinize the criminal case against President Trump’s former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn, according to people familiar with the matter.

The review is highly unusual and could trigger more accusations of political interference by top Justice Department officials into the work of career prosecutors.

Mr. Barr has also installed a handful of outside prosecutors to broadly review the handling of other politically sensitive national-security cases in the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, the people said. The team includes at least one prosecutor from the office of the United States attorney in St. Louis, Jeff Jensen, who is handling the Flynn matter, as well as prosecutors from the office of the deputy attorney general, Jeffrey A. Rosen.

Over the past two weeks, the outside prosecutors have begun grilling line prosecutors in the Washington office about various cases — some public, some not — including investigative steps, prosecutorial actions and why they took them, according to the people. They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive internal deliberations.

The Justice Department declined to comment.

Extreme for Barr to hire outside prosecutors to try to second-guess and discredit the career prosecutors who have already nearly concluded all of the cases that nailed down criminal convictions of Trump's advisors.

Especially shocking considering that Inspector Horowitz already completed thorough internal investigation concluding no wrongdoing by prosecutors or FBI except for the one FBI employee involved with Carter Page's FISA.

Strzok and others were cleared by IG regarding the handing of Flynn's FBI interviews yet Barr is staging last ditch intervention questioning prosecution over that case.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/ex-fbi-deputy-director-mccabe-sues-fbi-doj-over-firing-n1040556

The lawsuit lists as defendants Attorney General William Barr, the Justice Department, FBI Director Christopher Wray and the FBI, although it says Trump was ultimately responsible for the decision to have McCabe fired.

“Trump, acting in an official capacity as President of the United States, is responsible and accountable for Defendants’ actions," McCabe said in the suit. "Trump purposefully and intentionally caused the unlawful actions of Defendants and other Executive Branch subordinates that led to Plaintiff’s demotion and purported termination.”

McCabe said in the lawsuit that Trump demanded his "personal allegiance" and “sought retaliation” when McCabe “refused to give it." He added that "Sessions, Wray, and others served as Trump’s personal enforcers rather than the nation’s highest law enforcement officials, catering to Trump’s unlawful whims instead of honoring their oaths to uphold the Constitution

Could have been dismissed long ago. There was no reason for it to hang on for 2 years.

I did hear something interesting yesterday. President Obama had shortened the sentence guidelines. They were lengthened under swarms Jeff Sessions and Trump!

to put these men whose only crime was upholding the Constitution in jail. Politically, a bridge too far for even these snakes in power . Rather rake them over the coals with public embarrassment, attorneys fees and emotional distress in retribution. Its good to mock their failure though. Let them add up, all the failed investigations. The cost. The corruption of it. Then turn it loose on them as the election draws near.
