I had a meeting this afternoon with members of the County Election Board.

They are involved in setting up polling places, accepting and training election workers, and receiving candidate papers.

Our meeting involved getting information about number of election workers we would need to fill spots and getting the locations. The Election Board is run by a Republican and there is a Republican and Democratic Deputy.

Before the meeting started and before the Republican Board member and deputy showed up our Democratic Deputy was there and it was revealed that there are Republican members of that Board that do not like Trump.

No actual Republican should like or support Trump. He's not a Republican or anything, really, he's only in this for Trump. Look at his attacks on Mittens, actual Republican who followed his conscience and philosophy. And that sent out the word that any other Republican would be treated just the same.

I would say part of the reason why his support is higher within his base when others decide they are done with him.

There are still a lot of hard numb nuts that will blindly follow Trump here. Especially when they will elect an idiot like Jim Banks to Congress. My county isn't as irrational as the other 11 counties in the district. At least the city re-elected a Democratic Mayor to a 4th term. And the last 4 years there was a 7-2 Republican advantage for City Council. Now it is 5-4 Republican advantage with 2 of the 3 at-large are Democrat and both minorities.

The danger is those who only watch FOX News, if they watch any "news" at all. But the news about his disregard for the rule of law is making headlines now - and people are feeling the impact of his policies financially. That's what it takes, those who believed his lies beginning to be affected personally.

And I can sympathize with the issues in your district. We have regular protests in my district here in New York, yet they inexplicably keep electing Elise Stefanik.

Except for one page.

We have a strange setup. Use to have two newspapers. A morning paper that some might call liberal and an afternoon newspaper that was more Republican.

They shared the same building and press. But then the conservative paper disappeared and sort of merged with the morning paper. They slot one page for national and local idiots. The afternoon paper only printed during the week while the morning included Sundays. And had a higher circulation.

So imo the local paper offsets some of what might be on Fox News.

A shrinking base should mean lower than 42% approval.

7. The math with votes...

If someone normally votes Republican and then votes Democrat it is a 2 vote shift. Instead of 50 - 50 it is 49 - 51 ---- 2 votes.

If someone doesn't vote in that situation it is a 1 vote shift. Instead of 50 - 50 it is 49 - 50. 1 vote difference.

Either way is good. It is a bonus if they switch their vote your way.
