How many dogs tonight (3) ?

Omaha and Lincoln could see wind chills as low as -24 degrees or so Thursday morning.

three dog night

In the old days of no central heating, a night so cold it took 3 dogs sleeping with you to keep you warm enough.

Man, last night was real cold, definitely a three dog night.

It’s unseasonably mild here again this week: low of 38 tonight.

Back when my puppers were alive, every night was a 2 dog night, regardless of temp. Usually with a cat or three thrown in for good measure.

Stay warm, Omaha Steve!

but it is because they got cold, not me. Of course.

Cats are such opportunists.

If I woke up and all 4 of them were on the bed, I knew it had gotten very chilly in the house without even getting out of bed

It looks like about a half or a quarter of a dog night and believe me, that's really hard to find.

Ol' Zeus stretches out along side me every night. Love it in the winter. Not so much during heat waves 'cause that boy generates heat. But tonight I will enjoy the heat. Snowing hard. Really pretty. Thankfully hand bell rehearsal was canceled (we are all wimps😝 . So I fixed myself a drink, cut up some cheese and an apple for supper and am enjoying a quiet winter evening at home. Zeus Dog is busy begging cheese. I cut enough to share. 😋

And he's an 80 pound dog so I don't ever need more than one. Until he starts wiggling so he can get up and leave. Brrrr....

If I moved over, he would wedge closer. I would have to get on him at times for trying to lay on my leg too. Nice in the winter time, but miserable in the summer time.

my legs a few minutes after we lay down. He knows that by turning around that his floppy ears are out of reach from me messing with them.

And while sitting on me, he needed to pant excessively. We think there was something about the crowd noise that made him think he needed protect me - or maybe me protect him. Or perhaps it was just to hold me down so I wouldn't jump around so much. I could get a little agitated ....😆 Anyway he was one heavy doggie. He also slept with us. Husband on one side, Hercie stretched out in the middle taking up a whole lot of space, and me on the other side with the few remaining inches of the mattress. Yes he had a bed on the floor, but somehow the human bed was always better. Truth be told, Hercie was a good snuggler.

up in Polson, Montana called Three Dog Down. Great customer service and really good quality stuff. The owner is quite a character. Slightly off topic, but thought I’d throw it in with the 3 dog thing going...
