Witness Testifies A Crying Jim Jordan Begged Him To Lie In Sex Abuse Case
Jordan is, of course, the ranking Republican member on the House Judiciary committee.
By Susie Madrak

The Ohio statehouse held a hearing yesterday on a bill that would allow sexual abuse victims of the Ohio State wrestling team's doctor to sue for damages. And guess what one witness said? Via Cleveland.com:

Adam DiSabato, a former captain of the OSU wrestling team during the late 80s and early 90s, told members of the House Civil Justice Committee that Jordan and other team officials knew about open-shower team facilities that facilitated sexual harassment and abuse of team wrestlers, an allegation Jordan has denied.

He also said Jordan called him repeatedly in July 2018, after media outlets quoted his brother, Michael DiSabato, saying Strauss’ abuse was common knowledge to those surrounding the wrestling program, including Jordan.

“Jim Jordan called me crying, groveling… begging me to go against my brother…That’s the kind of cover-up that’s going on there,” he said.

“Are you guys going to do what you’re voted to do?” he told lawmakers later. “That’s the only reason I’m here.”

Remember, Jordan is the new ranking Republican member of the House Judiciary committee -- and if this is true, a man who actively tried to suborn legal testimony. Isn't that nice.

Might work if Jordan calls people that don't want him to call.

Wed Feb 12, 2020, 02:54 PM
Feb 2020

I don't know about anyone else, but I grew up with open shower facilities throughout my high school and college days. Are they unusual? They had them when i was in the USAF, as well. Have those been eliminated?

Open showers were the norm when I was in gyms and barracks. Everyone showered in one big room with multiple showerheads. Is that not how it is now? Is it no longer the norm?

As far as I can remember, no untoward stuff happened in those open showers, except a little towel-popping from time to time, and that was a punishable thing. It was sort of embarrassing the first couple of times you showered in them, but then stopped being embarrassing. It was just the norm and there it was.

In my high school, the girls' locker room was the same - open group showers. At least that's what my girlfriend told me. I never got a firsthand look at those facilities.

So, are open showers no longer a thing at schools and in the military?

After leaving school, college, and the USAF, I never thought about locker rooms again. In all of those places, open shower facilities were the norm where I was.

I guess all that has changed. It doesn't matter to me, but it didn't matter to me back then, either.

I was just surprised that open showers were mentioned in that news article, since they were everywhere back in the 1960s when I was taking showers in group housing.

Even the dorms at my college had open showers. One shower area per floor in each wing of the old three story dorms I lived in. Just like gym showers.

Times and attitudes change, I guess.

... or else everyone else was excluded whenever athletes were showering after a sporting event.

Nobody wanted strangers ogling star athletes while they showered.

The rest of the time the showers were open to everyone.

In this case it seems various people were allowed into the showers after sporting events specifically so they could see the athletes naked, or worse.

When I was a young university student creepy old guys would sometimes show up in the showers just to watch but they'd quickly be expelled by the staff. A few got arrested.

I used to run every day and shower in the university gym before class. I rented a locker there for this purpose. I saw some wild stuff, but mostly people just showered and minded their own business.

And that player says it isn't true. So no corroboration there.

...asked a former teammate named George Pardos to tell Jordan to stop calling him.

“Call Jim Jordan and tell him to quit calling me or I’m going to beat his ass,” Adam DiSabato said he told Pardos. “That’s what I said.”

Pardos told NBC News that Adam DiSabato is a friend but his testimony “is not an accurate description of what happened.”

Right before where you cut off the quote:

Jordan, he said, called him repeatedly that week. “I had to have my lawyer call him to tell him to stop calling me,” he said.
,,,
Adam DiSabato, who had previously said little publicly about the scandal that made his brother a household name in Columbus, Ohio, and roiled the state’s most famous university, told the committee he also asked a former teammate named George Pardos to tell Jordan to stop calling him.
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/brother-osu-whistle-blower-said-rep-jim-jordan-asked-support-n1135321

Clever truncating you got there. WTF?

And Pardos does not deny that Adam asked him to tell Jordan to stop calling him. What he denies is that Jordan was "burning up Adam's phone," whatever that's supposed to mean, nor does he deny Adam was a victim:
“Jimmy wasn’t burning up his phone to get hold of him,” said Pardos. “But Adam is a victim and Ohio State has been very dismissive of the victims and there is a lot of frustration.”
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/brother-osu-whistle-blower-said-rep-jim-jordan-asked-support-n1135321

And how would Pardos have personal knowledge of how often Jordan called Adam? Regardless, one call from Jordan is too many. Sheesh. WTF? Did you even read the article you cited? Why didn't you include the full paragraph in your quote?
