... crook in America's history D. Trump is just random speculation. However, the real question
is how will Graham explain letting a guilty man go to the people of America and the voters of
South Carolina.
BTW I think Lindsey's conscience is keeping him up at night.

(22,156 posts)republican lackeys in the Senate who refused to see any of the large amount of documented evidence, or hear from any of the numerous witnesses.
We are seeing these very same republican senators who failed to do their duty when the two articles of impeachment was presented to them whine and moan (LG in particular, the perpetual moaner) about how others in the Country are seeing them, after they failed once again to do their duty.
Why are these senators surprised? What did they actually expect the large number of Americans (70%+-) who did want the evidence presented and the witnesses listened to? They (the failed republican senators) instead showed all of us what a bought and paid for politician is in this Country, a shifty car sales man, who will steal the lollipops from your children's mouths if you are not watching closely.
These senators, representing a minority of the population will find their future choices severely limited in making new law, and in paving the path to future prosperity for all Americans, because no one will listen to them or their failed arguments any longer. They have reached their expiration date, and the American public will throw them all out of office, as they so well deserve, especially since they continue to represent no one but themselves.
Personally, I'd prefer that they all resign, as a group, and let the Country heal itself.

(12,438 posts)I am wont to feel pity at times for people so deluded as Graham and I am reminded that Aristotle said the cathartic emotions of viewing a tragedy are both terror and pity. I feel terror as well and so Graham and all the other villains infecting our nation are truly tragic figures, which is actually a hopeful sign as the tragic figure is always brought down by hubris, which seems to be all that drives them. Greed and the thirst for power cannot completely explain such behavior. People can be greedy and power hungry but if they are smart and know themselves they needn't fail, but hubris is a fatal flaw and will always bring them down. I just wish it would be soon before they do any more damage to the rest of us, or the planet itself.

(4,341 posts)When I hear Democratic politicians say "history will not be generous to them, or whatever it is they say", Democrats do not seem to understand that these thugs don't care about what history will say about them, they only care about the here and now. They, and we all know that once dead they won't read history, if any of them do now anyway, so they don't give a damn, and if reincarnation is true, we all should know that we don't remember anything about our previous life, so what he said should be very telling.
Of course that he is assuming that if there is a heaven that is where he is going, maybe we should start putting the fear in them that they are going to hell, because if all these religion stuff turns to be true, then if the rule of religious law works better than here on earth? that is exactly where they are going.
