If the blue wave hadn't won the majority in the House in the midterms

Every branch of our government would be controlled by a Trump right now. I have no idea what’s going to happen in the Stone trial. Will Stone just go back to jail and have to wait for another trial? Can anyone sue Barr for breaking some law or other? Will they just get Republican prosecutors to violate their oaths, take over and ask for time served?

At this moment I feel like we’re hanging by one thread. The House of Representatives. I truly didn’t think it would go this far this fast.

No Barr, no Judges, laws would get passed. Losing Senate seats in 2018 was horrible.

If we had not won back the House the Ukraine matter would have been buried by a Rethug House.

Thank goodness we got majority control of one house of congress or the public would be totally in the blind.

He will not have a new trial and will be going to prison soon once Judge Jackson sentences him. But he might appeal his sentencing hoping for a better deal from a different judge. Just have to hope that the courts hold up to the challenges ahead.

Flynn will also be sentenced this spring to at least a little prison time since Judge Sullivan will almost certainly not permit him to withdraw his guilty plea and not let him off with just probation since Flynn stop cooperating, but Flynn will probably try to appeal also.

I didn't realize he’d been convicted already. I’ve really tried staying away from the day to day news because I refuse to be dragged into the daily Trump outrages.

Why doesn’t Trump just pardon them instead of going through this crap?

because I also get the feeling the pardons are about to start flying. Stone's, and maybe more. I don't think Trump can restrain himself much longer, and he is feeling more empowered, invincible, and untouchable every day. Like a comic superhuman who keeps storing up massive amounts of electrical energy until death rays come streaming from his fingers toward his victims, he is becoming intoxicated from the unchecked power his corrupt AG and Republican Senate are handing to him.

and is waiting to be sentenced. I didn’t know that because I’ve stayed away from the day to day news. I was assuming the trial was still going on. My question was what would happen if the prosecution all resigned in the middle of a trial.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

.....there were a handful of times when Fate intervened and Washington and the Continental Army
lived to fight another day. On August 29,1776, the war almost ended, but Washington, under cover of
fog, retreated and saved the Army. There were other close calls and miraculous events throughout that
war that eventually led to victory.

Our winning a majority in the House in 2018, I believe, will someday be looked upon as one of those
times when Providence intervened on behalf of Truth and Freedom.

And we remember that 1776 was just the beginning of the fight.

I really try to stay positive because like your account of fate intervening, I actively believe in all those factors. Or better said, I am aware of the fact that disparate factors can, have and will either strengthen or weaken momentum.

It just suddenly hit me, with this seemingly successful interference in our justice system that we really are hanging on by the House’s actions only. Can they turn this runaway ship to do their Constitutional bidding? I know they want to and have somehow stood up to extraordinary odds.

years ago. He led the "Brooks Brothers stampede" in Florida, getting Dubya into the WH. He is a slimy little turd. He has a tattoo of Nixon on his back. Maybe he is afraid that will not go over well in prison? He describes himself as a "dirty trickster" and that is exactly what he is. Vile little excuse for a human being. This is why he is so popular with tRump.
