nixon fired attorneys general until he found someone who would cover up an investigation into himself.

donnie created a situation sufficiently intolerable that four prosecutors felt they had to resign. oh, and he pulled a nomination for another. all apparently done to punish them for investigating and prosecuting his fellow crooks.

so the timing is a bit different, but it's still basically the same horror show. a president completely inappropriate meddling in an investigation into himself and his fellow crooks, replacing honest people trying to follow the law with cronies who will instead do whatever the president wants, whether it conforms to the law or not.
