I'm sure I heard this yesterday, and 2 states were named. Can't remember them. Google no help. I want to know the theory behind the occurence if there's no China connection.

(29,223 posts)since the method of transmission is not determined yet, I'm sure any suck cases are added to the evidence.
I would go a step further and say it is pretty conclusive that this is at the very least spread by water or mucus droplets in an aerosol (sneeze or cough). But we don't know. It appears to be highly contaigious.

(19,567 posts)Both were spouses of a case who had visited China.
U.S. health officials say a person from Illinois who was infected with the new coronavirus in China has transmitted the virus to her spouse, marking the first known instance of person-to-person spread of the virus in the U.S.
The initial patient in Illinois was a Chicago woman in her 60s who had recently returned from Wuhan, China, where the outbreak is thought to have started. The new case, disclosed Thursday, is likely to heighten fears that the United States and other countries could see broader spread of the virus. The United States is at least the fourth country to report person-to-person spread outside of China, with Vietnam, Germany, and Japan also reporting local transmission.

Two more Americans, a husband and wife, were confirmed to have the coronavirus late Sunday in the second person-to-person transmission in the U.S. and the 10th and 11th cases in the country, respectively.
The husband, from San Benito County, California, recently traveled to Wuhan, China, the center of the virus' outbreak, and apparently passed the disease to his wife, who did not go to China. Both 57, neither has been hospitalized, but they have also not left their home.
