Diamond Princess passenger tweets food reviews during coronavirus quarantine

Thought this might be interesting...

Officers in protective gear enter the cruise ship Diamond Princess as more passengers tested positive with the coronavirus since it was first quarantined off Japan on Monday

Smith has claimed that the cruse ship is ‘stepping up its game’ since it was placed in quarantine, sharing pictures of the meals left outside his door with funny messages and even revealing his tricks on how to get himself an extra cup of coffee in the morning.

‘Princess stepping up its game with food service on #DiamondPrincess,’ Smith wrote.

‘Don’t believe the honeymooners who would rather be in an American hospital. You might have to drag me off the ship when the quarantine ends.’

Passengers have been supplied with thermometers and been told to monitor their temperature

Smith is among the estimated 400 Americans aboard the Diamond Princess, which is one of two cruise ships that Japan is holding under quarantine over coronavirus fears.

One female passenger on the Diamond Princess has voiced the fear that she will ‘leave in a box’.
The passenger from Florida relayed her message to a CNN reporter late Thursday from on board the Diamond Princess, which is being held in a two-week lockdown off the coast of Japan.

‘We are scared… I don’t want to leave this ship in a box,’ she said.

'A contaminated prison': Scared, angry passengers are trapped on three cruise ships amid coronavirus outbreak

https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/07/asia/us-coronavirus-victim-cruise-ship-intl-hnk/index.html

I have been on 2 cruises. But not on these massive hotels on the sea. One I was on was the now gone SS Norway that was the old SS France. An old liner. Today these top-heavy ships with thousands of people seem like a really bad idea.

I would not like to go on a cruise on one of those things.

And they seem crowded. When I vacation, I like to have a little space from people.

any cruise ship let alone one with thousands of strangers.

These days I don't even enjoy trans-Atlantic flights. I can handle a ferry in Denmark

... you can't leave and go for a walk.

Yeah. Yikes.

But, with the weather here, I think I could handle a flight to Jamaica!

It's not at all appealing to me. Now, it's even less so. I'd love to do the Queen Elizabeth transatlantic thing, or a Norwegian fjords cruise on a small boat. But, those monsters? YUCK!!! Too many people. Too many chances of getting sick as a consequence. I just don't get it.

I might go on one of those cruises up rivers in Europe where you could swim to shore if it started to sink, or get off and do something else if you decided you hated it, but I'd never go on one for the pleasure of swimming in a swimming pool in the middle of the ocean.

I'd go stir crazy if I were them.

I'd love to do a European river cruise, too. I don't worry so much about drowning. I just don't like crowds, so they're more appealing.

I was 7 at the time, but remember being in awe of the size of it.

I crossed on the Queen Mary too, but was a babe in arms at the time, so no memories sadly.

I have no interest in a cruise, but would go transatlantic in a skinny minute if I could.

Among other amazing things were the two tenders and their hoists. Remarkable...

And the two decks which were straight thru with no obstacles and the walls converged making them look infinitely long.

And her lines were gorgeous.

I bet they have their first child in November.
