(January 2020) but I've received two updates in February, one on the 3d and one on the 6th. This isn't a complaint. I'll just keep on checking and see how far this goes since I love me some Win 7.

(13,576 posts)But I also liked Windows 95. (Didn't like Millennium) And 98.
Check the calendar. It's 2020. Win 10 is what you should be using. It's a good system, stable and is your best bet to fend off malware.

Also no ad blaster needed. No online banking but big woo.

(13,576 posts)Not true. You are very vulnerable.
It is a good thing you don't do online banking.

(6,694 posts)It snags things pretty good . But the number of hits is a fraction of what hits my neices Win 10.
No online banking because Win 95 with a bank supported browser is not a match. I am old fashioned anyway so it works.
I am limited yes, but I can do what I need.

(13,576 posts)Are you too poor? The only excuse I can see is you can't afford it. Or you're being cheap. Or are just daunted by how to do it.
I don't mean to be mean or intrusive, but this is a message board and I don't know who you are, but you have a false sense of security and you're using an obsolete system.
Are you using Malware Bites? Microsoft Defender? (Norton is crap, IMO) KeyPass?
For what an upgrade costs, it's worth what you get.

(6,694 posts)My cell phone is an old flip phone, my car is over 20 yrs old and most of my clothes are older than that. They all work perfectly fine and do what is needed.
If I was poor then I would be using the library PC instead of paying for internet. If I was cheap I would not have spent money on something as frivolous as a PC was in 1995 .
Most don't understand my brand of frugality and I am ok with that.

(495 posts)They've tried upgrading some of our testers and machine controls, but not a lot of luck. Even huge companies cannot afford to kick out a half million $$$ on new equipment every couple years just to keep up with Microsoft.

(10,530 posts)like Word 97, I'd just buy a cheap new PC and keep the old one for things like this
