The US corporate, conservative media is owned by people who support Trump.

Not support in the sense that every owner voted for him, or will vote for him, but support in the sense that they will rarely officially notice that Trump lies repeatedly.

The media owners are very rich, and they will never personally suffer from any of Trump's actions. Tax cuts for the rich benefit the media owners, as do tax cuts for corporations.

And rich media owners never worry that their votes will be suppressed, or that their children will be locked in cages on the border with Mexico.

For all that Trump screams about the liberal media, and the fake news, this supposedly liberal media created Trump, created the myth of Trump the successful businessman.

And the media generally downplays protests against Trump, or "balances" a 5,000 person anti-Trump march with equal time given to a handful of pro-Trump sign carriers.

And the same media that never wrote about the GOP in disarray when there were 18 candidates in 2016 will obsess over the fact that there is still more than one candidate on the Democratic side.

When the GOP proposes yet another tax cut for the rich, rarely will the US media examine the fact that supply side economics is lunacy. Instead, it is treated as a legitimate economic theory that just happens to always explode the deficit and debt, while, coincidentally, making the rich far richer.

It's the Harvard business school method of governing -- find the choke points and control them. Facts do not favor GOP, therefore encourage consolidation of media companies and hand out trillion dollar tax cuts to encourage false equivalency messaging.

And because facts do not support their theories*, it is necessary for them to suppress the votes of workers, especially young workers and workers of color.

* Using the word theory is not truly accurate. Supply side economics is unsupported by any legitimate theory.

The institutes created or backed by the Koch brothers will continue to crank out disciples of anti-democracy long after the last brother is dust. Concentration of wealth and power is just not compatible with democracy.

Showing the need for much work in both areas.
