He was a failure over and over in this country, with six bankruptcies and US banks refusing to lend him anything. He was never accepted by New York society because they rightfully saw him as so much trash with a big mouth and no couth. So he turns to Russia and gains access to powerful oligarchs and even the head of government. Heady stuff for a man who feels wrongfully betrayed by bankers, investors, and high society in his own country. Russia saves his extravagant lifestyle and allows him to pretend to be someone important, then they actually make him someone important by ensuring that he becomes president. To which country do you think Trump gives his loyalty? The US is just his task, given by Putin, to destroy.
