Republican Congressional Cowards Sit Quietly As Trump Attacks Romney

Trump held a post-acquittal gathering at the White House where he attacked Mitt Romney and congressional Republicans cowered in fear and did nothing.

Trump said, “Then you have some who used religion as a crutch. They never used it before. An article written today, never heard him use it before. But today, you know, it’s one of those things. But it’s a failed presidential candidate, so things can happen when you fail so badly running for president.”

The congressional Republican fear of Trump has never been more obvious than it was during that moment in the White House. Congressional Republicans are spineless cowards who incapable of ever doing the right thing.

Republicans talk a big game and they love to sound tough, but they are afraid of a vindictive senior citizen with a Twitter. This sort of cowardice would never happen in the Democratic Party.

House and Senate Republicans are so afraid to anger their cult leader that they won’t utter a whisper to defend a man who they are privately congratulating for his vote to convict the president of high crimes and misdemeanors.

The Republican Party is a truly lost cause.

No Republicans are "privately congratulating" Romney for his vote. All those idiots had to do was stick together and vote to remove Trump and the nightmare would be over. I swear to god, the fabrications we keep hearing about how all these Republicans "privately" think or say this or that about Trump are getting as ridiculous as Trump's press conferences.

in one way or another, and the rest know that trump can end their career by turning his brain dead cult followers against them. He can make them or break them and they know it.

They have put trump over country, and they are disgusting!

He doesn't have any legitimate power over Republicans. All they had to do was remove him yesterday, and he wouldn't be President today and this would be over. SDNY could unseal the indictment they have(and they do), all his legal arguments about tax returns go out the window, etc... He would be done and his influence would be over as soon as the GOP decided there was some new evil that must be stopped by the new candidate.

I'm sorry, but there is no rational reason for how they are acting. Its not remotely plausible that 50-some odd Senators and over a hundred Reps are all secret criminals or child molesters or something. That's just ridiculous. Again, if he's not President, he has no power anymore.

a rational reason for it. Just pointing out some simple facts, not making excuses.

as they sat in that room forced to witness that miserable POS's self congratulatory spew and hatred spill uncontrollably from his ugly mouth. The optics of that display were just awful. It was the lamest looking "victory lap" I have ever seen.

If we can't find a way to turn this into a trifecta in November, we never will. That party has absolutely destroyed itself by following that clown down into the gutter.
