I'm going to give you my glass half full lecture. This is a worst case scenario. ❤️

The novel coronavirus could end up being a seasonal foe, but hopefully the fatality rate will settle down once reporting of minor cases is more reliable. Also, I expect (hope) funding to open up for much more research into a vaccine if this becomes more wide spread. This virus may be appearing to spread like influenza, but it doesn't mutate like it per researchers. Coronavirus is... more stable? For lack of a better word. Which is a good thing. Coronaviruses tend to stay truer to form and only mutate to stay alive and viable, they're not known for morphing into new strains. Unlike influenzas.

Before anyone chastise me, I do realize there are more deaths related to the illness than are being reported in Wuhan, and other areas of China. There are also many more minor cases not being reported for a lack of testing. I do understand the whole picture.

We just won't have enough information to truly understand this virus yet. We will, in time. Science is on this.

24. I was fretting about just this today

when I took my kiddo to the doctor because his cold/virus didn’t seem like it was a normal bug...turns out he has influenza B. We started him on tamiflu and hoping for the best because we caught it relatively early. BUT, it occurred to me when they were testing him for flu and strep that this could be something WAY worse and what would happen then? We have no leadership in place organized enough to handle a pandemic. Nobody in this maladministration gives a rats ass. The mind reels.

Maybe corona will, indeed, stop by the Oval Office for a visit. Could happen.
