(1,856 posts)When all the dust has settled, who now has any gravitas to pick up a conservative banner and create a new party once the orange idiot has beaten the present incarnation of the Republican Party into bloody pulp?
Mitt does. And he knows it. He did this purposely knowing that theres a tough row to hoe ahead, but if you hoe to the end of the row, you get the rewards.
And I have to give him props for having the integrity to be the only one
THE ONLY ONE
of those soulless bastards in the Republican Party to actually to the right thing here.

(1,856 posts)I think hes sincere. The problem I have is having watched his church shovel their unrelenting, unforgiving, self righteous, people-hurting doctrine, that comes down from their council of 12 down everyone in Utahs throats, believer or not. He doesnt get separation of church and state. None of them do. Not really. And for that I wont give him a pass.

(1,856 posts)Honestly though, having to deal with this in real life, when I do find time to read I like to stick to the classic literature I havent gotten to yet, and histories or historical fiction.
Need to escape somewhere!

(4,999 posts)Until then his symbolic vote will only be used to help get him re-elected and let the GOP continue to hold a majority in the senate.
