I'm just curious - I haven't seen any big news, but something could have slipped through the cracks with the constant stream of BS flowing out of the White House.
Thanks

(26,290 posts)Pipes are still being replaced and some people are still using bottled water because there's an understandable lack of trust, in the process. So, some of the churches are still holding bottled water distributions. The resulting health issues, in children, will be an ongoing issue.
I live about a mile outside of the Flint city limits snf still see people with shopping carts full of cases of water. My brother, who lives in Flint, is always on top of making sure he has spare water filters.
The truth is, I doubt people will ever fully trust the water, again. And keep in mind, there are a LOT of areas, throughout the country, that have serious water issues. The aging infrastructure must be updated and replaced.

In August 2019, the state of Michigan warned city officials that Flint was in violation of the Safe Drinking Water Act because it failed to test water at enough homes with lead service lines or lead plumbing fixtures. A spokeswoman for the city told MLive that Flint officials say that is because the state "did not provide the city with the final approved sampling methods" in time.
Flint was required to test water from a minimum of 60 high-risk homes from January to July 2019. But as the city works to replace lead service lines, there are fewer and fewer homes that meet that standard.
The city submitted 35 valid tests, and 30 invalid sample results. But those tests were invalid because the samples were either taken after a home's lead service line had been replaced, or before excavation showed the service line to be copper.
Now, as far as getting juistice....well, that's complicated, too.

They are also still dealing with the legal issues. At least now they can sue their government officials.
