As a clinician of 43 years:

Everybody dies. Yes, even you and your beloved family will die eventually. Today, three years from now, 80 years hence. Soon it will be Limbaugh's Turn.

It shows that behind all the bluster, all the money, all the self-adulation, all these people are just men and women and all the bloviating and posturing will ultimately not do them one iota of good. Those metastatic lesions, those wildly reproducing cells and their insanely mutated mitochondrial DNA will fell these people as they destroy so many others, as it destroyed my brother of blessed memory.

I hope Limbaugh suffers the way he made so many others suffer: it eats at your viscera, his by cancer, many others by his words and the ramifications of his words. Lest we not forget the bitter hatred which spewed from his mouth.

So to paraphrase a Hebrew prayer, let the memory of his hatefulness and rancor be remembered and always be stated as a warning to those who destroy others. May he dwell in the house of the devil forever.

(Yes I know...but his followers do. Jews will certainly understand as will many others. )

and I know how much he's going to hurt during treatment. It must be a terrible shock to find out his money isn't going to insulate him from the common human experience of suffering and eventual death.

Acquaintances over the years say his off mike personality is low key, almost mousy. That is good news for his caregivers but worse news for him. He played an asshole on raido, poisoning minds and hearts, splitting up families, and hurting the country, all for money that isn't going to help him a bit at the end.

Sometimes I wish I could believe in gods and devils, angels and demons, heavens and hells. I've tried, but I just can't do it. So I'll have to hope the reality of what he is and what he did and how little it means at the end hits him. I just don't think it will.

to Trump and his enablers, in ceremonies with brief statements on how they earned it.

And more importantly, as an example to the people of good governance and citizenship, award a medal of statesmanship, or call it a medal of honor, for people who exemplify the best of American values. I would not leave it to Congress to choose the honor recipients since Pubs would make a mockery of it. Let it be awarded by a committee of Dems who receive recommendations from the general public as well as from leaders on who should receive each kind of award.

ON EDIT, since the term medal of honor is already in use, a different title for the medal would be needed. Whatever it is called, it should inspire people to standing by the values that are being discarded by Trumpists.

that people who consider themselves to be morally superior to the right wing are so eager to spew venom and evil wishes at those they despise. It reminds me of the people they condemn. Wishing pain and suffering on others because they have caused pain and suffering diminishes us as people. Limbaugh will suffer pain and probably anguish as well but it is doubtful he will change his beliefs or attitudes. Whether or not he does accomplishes nothing and if you derive joy or even satisfaction from the thought of his suffering I think it is time for some introspection.

I despise all the same right wing people that most DUers do. But can we create a better world by behaving exactly like them?

including Rush Limbaugh, or even Donald Trump. I hate what they do and who they are. Moral superiority or inferiority has nothing to do with it. What they believe is good, I believe is evil. We inhabit different planes of existence. What they believe is sensible, I believe is cruel. What I believe is good and necessary, they believe is elitist and holier-than-thou. RL and I will never be able to communicate, much less convince either of us of anything, because we do not see the world in the same terms.

Oh, yeah, that was a real Rush yuk-yuk wasn't it. And Don't ever forget the "dog in the White House" quip. What a man, what a real man.

I'll always remember his ass-pimple, the anal cyst he kept to keep him out of the draft -- while he supported the war in Vietnam. The cyst made him unfit for duty, of course, but it was treatable, operable, and the Army would have paid his medical bills. (I know because I served with a guy who took advantage of such an offer from the Army. 4-F because of a damaged testicle who was pre-cancerous, he had the surgery and emerged fit for duty. Rush surely had the same offer.

(He lied for years about his condition, though, claiming it was a football injury.)

Still, though I have loathed and despised this man for decades, I hope he is sufficiently drugged to numb his suffering. Sadly, though, he will not deny alone. In fact, I suspect his funeral will be well attended by crowds of the hateful, spiteful, smug, stupid people who listen to him daily.
