He's kidding about how tough it is being up against people (republicans) who can lie and cheat and get away with it.

I'm always dubious of claims like this.

Wasn't it 9/11 that 'turned' Dennis Miller into a money grubbing con. Any excuse to justify what you were already inclined to be...

Did he miss 8 years of the Obama presidency?

Did he miss the outcome of the 2018 election?

The GOP isn't winning with Trump; it's being subsumed by Trump.

Talk about boarding a sinking ship!

The 8 years of President Obama were basically digging out of a massive hole left by the Republicans who until that point had controlled the presidency and the Senate. Remember that even though we took back the House AND Senate McConnell basically blocked everything he could. Remember that during the last years of President Obama's term, his nominations were blocked, including filling a Supreme Court vacancy he should have been able to fill by law.

2018 was good, but Republicans still control the Senate which is why Trump is being acquitted.

Some people have a different perspective.

Plus, it was a joke, but one which makes you look at the fact that this jerk (Trump) is still walking around a free man and president after blatantly committing crimes.

The system is broken. For many Black and Brown people, the system has been broken for a long time.

You didn't pick up on the fact that he said, "You know what, forget it, I'm a Republican now, I'm tired of losing... you can't be a Democrat and a Knicks fan at the same time, it's too heartbreaking!"

I seriously doubt that he is actually a Republican. He was just talking about how frustrating it is that Republicans seem to always be a step ahead.
