Very succinct and poignant. What Trump has done deserves removal. If you feel what he's done is wrong, you must vote to remove BECAUSE HE IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE.

(81,304 posts)And if trump gets a free pass from his Senate vassals, he WILL see, interpret, AND aggressively promote that hes got a 100% across-the-board free pass that he can apply and reapply to any move he makes.
That vote will unleash the Beast. And reaffirm that he did nothing wrong. Guaranteed he will take it, and act upon it, that way.

Manners, logic, and reason are meaningless to them and they should be told that in an official capacity.
Will people realize Trump will now call for the arrest of Joe Biden?

(7,403 posts)Plays out in other areas as well. For instance, "only I can fix it". How well has that worked. His ventures in diplomacy with Iran, North Korea, China and Mexico have been real busts. Trump's signature issue has been trade, where he has torn up trade agreements and slapped on tariffs. There the charts show he has made things worse. Here is one on trade deficit as a percentage of GDP (blue line). This chart ends before Trump but the contrast between what happened under Bush and Obama is stark. (It's the first chart).

Here is a chart showing the deficit thru 2018. As you can see, the trade imbalance skyrocketed under Bush 43, then recovered significantly under Obama but in 2017 and again in 2018 it has gotten much worse again. Granted, the full effects of the tariffs don't show until 2019 but this shows the underlying policy is making matters worse. And never mind what is going on with the budget deficit... As this shows, "not going to change" reverberates in every which direction and should be a calamity for Republicans come November.
