5. I'd be interested in hearing why it takes so long to release a stage film with the original cast

I'm not being skeptical, just curious. It's written and financed, the cast know their lines, there's already a set, the editing should be easy, there's already a score.... I always love the behind-the-scenes special features that come with some DVDs so I'm especially curious about what else is involved here.

6. The original cast has left the show, ages ago.

All of the main roles are now being played by someone else.

They will have to arrange the schedules of all of the original cast to come back to New York, rehearse again, block the camera moves with the choreography and finally film it. October 2021 doesn't surprise me in the least!

8. Starring/Named roles on Broadway rarely go longer than a year

especially for the original cast.

Hamilton premiered in the summer of 2015 and almost all the leading roles were gone by summer 2016 or the end of that year.

However, most of the original cast were in for the preview run the year before and also during "workshops" and in development for several years before that. Heck, Lin Manuel Miranda did the opening song for Obama in 2009!
