Bernie and AOC introduce bill to ban fracking by 2025

my question for them. what are they proporsing as an alternative.

no matter what you feel about the oil industry how is this feasible.
lets say the bill passes. fracking is banned.
that mean us oil and gas production drops by a tremendous amount.
prices will spike a huge amount since we will have to get the fuel from the mideast instead.
instead of 2.25 gas its very probably that it will be $4-5 or more.
home heating costs will also explode.
in addition 100's of thousands of jobs will be lost

while our dependency on fossil fuels needs to be reduced this isnt the way to go about it.

just another symbolic gesture. After all getting legislation enacted requires team work and compromise.

teh reality is we are a fossil fuel based economy. right now there is no practical alternative that can be implemented quickly.
are you prepared to crash teh economy to get rid of fracking?
