I have to admit that it is highly conceivable that this did happen, although I have not read anything about it.
If America knew Trump traded the continuation of his licensing deal at Trump Towers Istanbul for a retreat of U.S. forces from the Turkey-Syria border, which led to Turkey shelling our troops, us losing bases, and the rebirth of ISIS, support for a second impeachment would be 70%

Replying to @SethAbramson
When history reveals the secret deals Trump cut with foreign nations that endangered our national security, compromised the safety of our troops, cost us billions, and put us at the mercy of foreign dictators, any politician who abetted him will be seen as a historical disgrace.

Congress needs to hear (*under oath*) from the people who were on the calls between Trump and Erdogan in *December 2018 and October 2019*, as well as *John Bolton and Bill Barr*, who both *know* Trump was negotiating quid pro quos with Turkey as he betrayed U.S. troops in Syria.

The best part: the bipartisan condemnation of Trump's actions in Syria makes it impossible for the Republicans to claim that a massive investigation of his actions there is purely partisan. The withdrawal from Syria is literally the thing the GOP has condemned Trump for the most.

(1,103 posts)to every "R" senator. From today forward, everything trump does and everything we learn he has done, will be on the senate repubs, they will own it all. We must never let them deny ownership or try to hide from, we must cover them with and rub it in like stink on shit! They are f*@kin' traitors, one and all. History will not be kind to any of them and hopefully the Nov election will bury a bunch of them!

(4,490 posts)I'm laughing at this part:
"the bipartisan condemnation of Trump's actions in Syria makes it impossible for the Republicans to claim that a massive investigation of his actions there is purely partisan."
Seth is still thinking about this from a logical perspective.
Over 40% of America is here though:

None of this hurts Trump much. The damaging info only helps to show more reasonable people what sort of scumbag crook he is. It's about keeping enough people aware of the threat to cap his support and keep the disaproval of him over 50%, while hopefully being able to chip away at the margins as it's closer to election time.
The only way 70%+ would want him impeached and removed is if we were also feeling the effects of a 2008 level recession.
