New study pulls back veil on Everett's coronavirus patient
EVERETT, WA The man hospitalized in Everett for coronavirus got worse before he got better, according to a remarkably revealing scientific article in the New England Journal of Medicine.
All he has now is a cough.
The Snohomish County man was the nations first coronavirus case. The article, written by public health officials in the county and Washington, is guiding others worldwide in treating people with the virus.
The man, 35, has been in a special isolation room since Jan. 20 at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, where his condition has been listed as satisfactory.
He went to an urgent care clinic on Jan. 19, four days after returning from Wuhan, China. His initial mild symptoms progressed to atypical pneumonia, known as walking pneumonia, on his fifth night in the hospital.
